About Dr. Hsu
Mark Hsu, MD, was inspired from childhood to become a doctor when his grandfather, with whom he was very close, passed away from prostate cancer. “Losing my grandfather sparked my drive to pursue a career caring for people and helping them find relief from their pain and suffering,” he said.
A Bay Area native who attended Stanford University School of Medicine, Dr. Hsu specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system. Some common disorders he treats include cancers of the kidneys, prostate, bladder, and testes; kidney stones; urinary incontinence; urinary tract infections; erectile dysfunction; infertility; and benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlargement of the prostate gland).
“The thing I like most about my job is being with patients,” said Dr. Hsu, who is trained in the most up-to-date, minimally invasive urological procedures. “There’s a story behind every patient who walks into the clinic, and I enjoy hearing about their lives and what brought them to us,” Hsu added. “I believe in educating my patients on the different paths we can take for their treatment and empowering them to decide which is best for them. It’s rewarding to help my patients through their health issues and be an integral part of their recovery process.”
Hsu also has great interest and experience in research, and has been widely published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Before joining Washington Hospital and Washington Township Medical Foundation in 2019, Dr. Hsu had a busy urologic practice in the growing market of Modesto, California. He was attracted to the organizations because he prefers the intimate community health care setting it provides over larger, corporate entities.
A resident of Fremont, Dr. Hsu enjoys an active lifestyle of tennis, golf, cycling and traveling––and as a self-admitted foodie, he relishes scouting out new restaurants.
