About Katherine Donaldson-Fletcher, RN, WHNP, CNM
Katherine Donaldson-Fletcher is a compassionate and bilingual Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with extensive experience in reproductive health, obstetrics, and gynecological care. She holds both CNM and WHNP certifications from the University of California, San Francisco, where she specialized in women’s health, graduating in 2020. Katherine’s professional journey includes diverse roles at several healthcare institutions, where she has delivered high-quality, patient-centered care in both English and Spanish. As a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at Washington Township Medical Foundation, she provides comprehensive reproductive healthcare services, including STI screenings, contraception counseling, and prenatal care, to a diverse patient population. Her previous roles at Planned Parenthood Northern California, where she worked across multiple clinics in Vallejo, El Cerrito, and Fremont, further honed her skills in family planning, gender-affirming hormone care, and general reproductive health.
Katherine’s approach to patient care is informed by her broad clinical experiences, which include working with individuals from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. She prioritizes building trusting relationships with her patients and emphasizes the importance of education and informed decision-making. In her role as a midwife, she fosters a supportive environment for women throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journeys, always advocating for their health and autonomy.
Outside of clinical practice, Katherine is an active member of several communities. She is also involved in various personal interests, including open water swimming, ceramics, and mushroom foraging. Katherine is a dedicated member of Berkeley’s Potter’s Studio and the Selkies Open Water Swimmers group.
Katherine is deeply committed to supporting both her local and global communities. Prior to her nursing career, she spent time abroad, working in Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, and Bolivia, where she collaborated with teachers to create locally appropriate environmental studies curricula for schools. She also worked as a bilingual elementary school teacher in Oakland, Richmond, and Berkeley for many years.
