About Dr. Kediyal

Dr. Jaya Kediyal is board-certified in Family Medicine with a Bachelor of Science degree at Sardar Bhagwan Singh Post Graduate Institute, Dehradun, India. She then earned her medical degree at Western University in Pomona, California. Her journey transitioned with an internship at College Medical Center in Long Beach, California and continued with a Family Medicine residency at Medical City in Fort Worth, Texas. With her formal education and training completed, she became a family physician at Sutter Health Palo Alto Medical Foundation here in Fremont and now is with us at Washington Township Medical Foundation as one of our primary care providers.

Dr. Kediyal chose family medicine because she enjoys forging long-term partnerships with her patients. Another aspect of family medicine that Dr. Kediyal appreciates is the opportunity of meeting and providing health care to a wide range of ages – oftentimes entire families. Naturally, seeing such a diverse age range of patients allows her to provide adolescent medicine, comprehensive health care, chronic disease management, musculoskeletal medicine, preventive care, and women’s health in her practice.

Dr. Kediyal’s philosophy of care is to treat the whole person – their body, mind and spirit. She would recommend the same care or treatment to her patients just as she would to her family members in any given health scenario, whilst respecting their personal, cultural or religious sensitivities on matters. This approach has led to Dr. Kediyal actively fostering an environment that promotes a safe and comfortable space for her patients to discuss their health care goals and concerns. She places special emphasis on this to help her patients avoid developing chronic or long-term illnesses in the first place.

In her free time, Dr. Kediyal enjoys doing activities that energize or bring her joy. This includes meditating, walking, or going on a good hike. As a mother, she also enjoys spending quality time with her family.
